Welcome to Freshmen Seminar!

 

I’m your instructor, Prof. Jennifer Simpson. I will be teaching your Freshmen Seminar class and I am honored to have this opportunity.

 

This website will be our starting point for most of our learning activities. On this site, you can find the resources and tools that will strengthen your success in this class. You will also be able to find links to our class lesson plans. If you are ever absent from class, you can come to this website to stay up-to-date.

Freshmen Seminar will spend the semester strengthening your skills in each of the following areas:

   for assessments

- Collaboration with others

- Public Speaking with confidence

- Service to the community

- Digital Literacy

- Time management

- Perseverance & resilience

Grading

Your grade in Freshmen Seminar will be calculated based on the following:

- Classwork and Homework

   completion and quality

- Political Science lecture note-

   taking

- In-class participation

- Presentations to the class

- Portfolios (Midterm / Final)

- Research Project

- First-Year Sympsium

- First-Year Research Conference
