What is the First-Year Research Conference?

The First-Year Program sponsors a research conference for all first-year students at the end of the Spring Semester. The conference is set up like a professional conference, where you submit a proposal and abstract to a blind-reading selection committee and based on the readers' understanding of your proposal, you are asked to present or not.

Presenting at such a conference is a good experience, and presenting at the conference is not much more than you will be doing for your Multimodal Presentation.

It is encouraged that you all submit a proposal but it is optional.

Attending one session (which typically includes 2-3 presentations) is required. At the session, you will need to pick up an evaluation and complete it.
