Exam I is Tuesday

Announcements

  • I have updated the grades!

  • Check them and let me know if you find any errors.

POLS Grades

  • Dr. Huerta has looked at his grades and has taken note of those that have not don any MindTaps.

  • If you have done none of them, he has listed you as NA. That status can affect your Financial Aid. So, if that is you....REGISTER FOR MINDTAP AND DO THEM!

COMM

  • You will be having class and will get to meet Dr. Meyers!

  • Remember, you will be meeting in the Library, Room 109

POLS Exam I Instructions

  • You will be allowed to bring ONE 8.5x11 inch sheet of paper of notes with you.

  • The notes must be handwritten and not copied

  • Make sure your name is on the paper and that you hand it in with your exam

  • DO NOT enter the classroom until we call you inside

  • DO NOT enter from the top of the room; you MUST enter from the first floor

  • Come in fill in each row of seat, row by row; Each row of seats must be completely filled; No skipping seats

  • Turn your caps around; No listening to music; cell phones on silent and no big meals

  • All you have to bring is a pencil

  • We'll have pencils there but they're dull stubby little golf pencils with no erasers

  • All you have to do is fill in your name

  • There are four versions of the exam

  • We lay them out on the tables so that everyone around you has a different version; So no cheating!

  • Your exam and scantron will be labeled (Ex. V1-11 or V2-13).

  • When you finish: 1. Read what version you have (V1 or V2 or V3 or V4), 2. Put your note sheet and scantron in your exam, 3. Come down and place your exam on the front table in the PROPER VERSION PILE

Exam I Study Tips

  • DO NOT just study the MindTaps

  • Some questions will come there, but they are things you've basically already been tested on. So why would he test you on that again? (His words, not mine)

  • A majority of the questions will come from lecture

  • Study the examples he gave

  • Understand the concepts that he went over in class

  • There will be questions over the two documentaries, but they won't be over the names of individuals or statistics. Just over the overall general idea of the documents and what the documentary wanted you to understand.
